City Council Governance and Priorities Committee Meeting

The City Council Governance and Priorities Committee (formerly known as the Executive Committee) formulates and recommends policies, plans, and bylaws to City Council, and also handles any matter that does not fall under the purview of another Standing Committee.

Mandate:
With respect to all matters within the committee’s policy areas, the mandate of this committee is:

  • To provide advice and recommendations to Council;
  • To oversee the implementation of approved policy decisions by the civic administration;
  • To exercise every power delegated by Council; and
  • To supervise the City Manager, the City Clerk and the City Solicitor.

If an item of interest to Bus Riders appears on the agenda of City Council’s Executive Committee, we will update this event post and our blog with the relevant information.

Also keep an eye on our Facebook page, there is often a short time frame between when the Committee’s agenda is released and when the meeting occurs. Our Facebook page is our “go to” place where discussion and open exchange of ideas and opinions happens.

Note July and August meetings are at 9:00 a.m.

Stephan is frequently cynical and has an on again, off again interest in politics and holding our public officials to account, mostly at the municipal level. Despises hypocrisy. A number cruncher born and raised in Saskatoon. Mmmm, crunchy numbers. Blogs at yxesimonsays.wordpress.com and tweets @yxesimonsays
